Island Keeper Clinics has established a reputable following across Canada since Shel Brodsgaard established his training concept in 1993. Since this time, Shel has traversed the globe plying his trade, learning from several of the world’s top goalkeeper coaches: Simon Smith (UK), Jerry Knuttsen (Norway), Frans Hoek (Holland), Erling Borgstrom (Denmark) and coaches Even Pellerud (Norway), Richard Moller Nielsen (Denmark), Ian Bridge (Canada) and Richard Bate (UK). Shel has combined the knowledge gained in his playing and coaching experiences to share these methods through IKC camps, educational resources, lectures, presentations, seminars, motivational speeches and training programs.

IKC provides development programs for young goalkeepers; community level coaches; specialized goalkeeper trainers. IKC provides residential camps for goalkeepers, players and teams; club-based goalkeeper development programs; scholarship profiles and placements; international guest coaches; and coaching seminars. IKC staff and students continue to achieve success in the game. IKC has produced several Youth National Team Goalkeeper Coaches utilized by the Canadian Soccer Association. Goalkeeper Coaches working with Professional Organizations. IKC has landed goalkeepers into professional playing environments.
